A young family with children, this client purchased a vintage brick home on Winnetka’s storied Indian Hill Road in their move from the city. They sought to update the interiors significantly, while remaining true to the spirit of the house’s history. A cozy yet formal living room was top of the clients’ wish list, along with an intimate, jewel box dining room and a comfortable, fun family room.
Noteworthy Moment
SVD found a style twin in this client. Involved at the very inception of the home search, it became a bit of a passion project infusing the classic brick home with all things stylish and a little whimsy that had to work for a young family similar in age to Sarah’s. The design culminated in a total transformation of the house that suited the bustling family perfectly.

"I’ll never forget our first design meeting when you presented a green living room and I nearly fainted. Maybe it was lack of sleep with a newborn but I was in a panic. I said I liked pops of green and animal print but didn’t mean painting an entire room green! Thank you for pushing my already bold and color loving style even further, the risks you talked me into taking have taken my home from beautiful to WOW!!“
